User Reviews for My Aurora Forecast & Alerts APP
Nice interface. Anssuming it’s accurate in real time, It may be useful although it’s never been clear when auroras were happening where I am so I can’t say for sure. Map is nice, though chunky. The forecasts – meh. I keep an eye on space weather and when there’s a CME the app’s predictions of activity lag way behind. And the long term forecast seems wildly unrealistic (no one knows when a sunspot is going to explode a week or two from now,) and doesn’t seem to have any connection with reality.

So far this has been an interesting app. I like that it incorporates cloud cover in your area. Hoping it will help me catch an aurora in the coming year!
Decent enough app. Since the last update however Norton reports it now has access to the Sim card and voicemail number that can be used for “data mining purposes”. I’m not sure if this is a false positive on Norton’s part or, if true, why the app requires these new permissions.
As amazing as the aurora! My go to for Auroral predictions. Awesome, Thanks! 18/12/2020 Still the only Aurora Forecast app I use. Awesome, Thanks!
just needed to make it gnu free, like ahoxus fupl. and ofc without ads. quite nice app otherwise!
I love this app! One random day I just checked my app at 3pm for no reason. To my surprise it was 1 percent chance. So at the night I was able to see the Northern Lights just from my balcony. If I did not have the app, I would have missed this opportunity.

Good app for monitoring numbers and getting forecasts/alerts. Learn to read the numbers and don’t rely on the % chance of seeing lights at your location and you are fine. I like the dark background for monitoring data without ruining your night vision.
Percentages seem off since the update and can no longer see the photos within the app.
[g=aoman] Great for checking if the aurora is out in your area. The map is the best feature to use. Sometimes the notifications get it wrong but overall I appreciate having this as a resource.
Very reliable even though I live out of the viewing area most of the time, I can make a good assessment whether to pack my camera gear or stay home.
I have just had my 1st forecast and I am looking forward to seeing how well this app works. (update: seems to work well enough)
Meh. It sends alerts when theres no realistic chance of seeing them.
This app is great for getting information fast, but not about notifying you at realistic times. I feel like there should be more notification settings for longer warning signs. Rather than only getting “chances are high right now,” get “chances may be high within 24 hours.” Without a heads up I sleep before I get the chance to look, and that’s unfortunate. For reference, I live where chances are rare, so this is important to me.
This is Easy and Awesome!
works great,
it’s an awesome app but it definitely needs some upgraded features it needs you know some more frequent updates it needs other things like more animations more customizability I love it but it needs work no offense I couldn’t build an app like this if I wanted to 😆
My Aurora …. Gets 5 out of 5 stars I use this app. daily. Often multiple times per day. It hasn’t ever failed me. When the KP index is getting high, I’m always notified. I’m still a rookie light chaser. I may not always understand the terms or all the information. But the answers and explanation in this app are super easy to find and understand. And it’s free, so there are some ads. But it’s a reasonable amount.
I don’t mind ads, but I got one that was very deceiving and forced me to kill the app or be forced to go to the app store. that’s where I draw the line. sorry, I’m now uninstalling. overall the app was good.
it alerts me when changes are available, but I have never have seen them
Many cameras are not live, just still pictures updating every minute or 2. Doesn’t give you any sense of the beautiful movement. Some links need updating. Lights over lapland are now using a new viewer you must sign up for. Other websites have many more links than this ap. Most of the camera links that take you to YouTube are better because they are completely live cameras. Like the view line and notifications.
