User Reviews for My Aurora Forecast & Alerts APP
Nice interface. Anssuming it’s accurate in real time, It may be useful although it’s never been clear when auroras were happening where I am so I can’t say for sure. Map is nice, though chunky. The forecasts – meh. I keep an eye on space weather and when there’s a CME the app’s predictions of activity lag way behind. And the long term forecast seems wildly unrealistic (no one knows when a sunspot is going to explode a week or two from now,) and doesn’t seem to have any connection with reality.

Fantastic
It seems to work auroras are rare here.
Where did the ads come from? Brings it down considerably.
no future predictions
Its not really the greatest for Aurora forecasts if you ask me…been pretty much disappointed most times I open app…I can get better info on NOAA’S site really…more worthy of my time….
Nice
Curious as to the source of information is for the numbers in this app and whether there is any rounding with the Kp. Storm 10/10/24 (10/11/24 at the official international monitoring agency in Germany) was listed in app as a Kp 9, was actually a 8.67 (aka 9-). Was the information incorrect or does the app round to the nearest integer?
like the simplicity of being able to see the weekly, daily, and hourly prediction of kp and cloud coverage
App’s great, but I think one feature is missing in “Best Locations” window: Sorting by probability. It seems that the locations are sorted by distance; you can’t call it Best Locations and not have the option to sort by probability from highest to lowest.
Seems mostly good but cannot give a forecast for a specific location. I have travel plans and can only get forecasts for my current location or for the app’s recommended locations, not where I’m commited to travel.
It was really useful and I can’t recommend it highly enough. App said 95% chance and the show was absolutely breathtaking
I was going to give you 5 stars, I changed my mind now that you are FORCING me to update. Why do I have to update, app was working fine for me? Update should be optional.
Seems to OK, but still not seen the Auroa Borealis as a result, but clouds might explain this!!!
Best of these apps I’ve used. Constantly updates on changes to the KP index and alerts you when you have an increased chance to see AB. One night we had a 2 KP reading and a 4% chance of seeing the AB, we went to dinner and as we were finishing got a notification that the KP had jumped to 5 and that we had a 99% chance of seeing. We went out and enjoyed a mesmerizing show for the next hour and again at midnight.
This app is great! It has alerts for your location and is the reason I was able to see the Aurora on my second night in Iceland! I’m very excited about that. It’s accurate, tracks your location and has a few ways of displaying the data.
Very good app
I’m very happy with this app, I enjoyed the feature of an alarm…which was accurate as well, I received a notification stating visibility in an hour…. and it was correct! Although very faint, I was able to view….Thank you creators of My Aurora Forecast! Awesome job!
Pretty decent app.
Saw the aurora twice in two months due to this app. Spending Sunday evening relaxing, when I get an aurora notification from the app. We go out of town, and the sky is green and purple. The integration of cloud cover in the app is great allowing better decision making wether to go.
works pretty well, it’s been pretty accurate
