I really wish I had had this plethora of information this app provides when I was forecasting for a living in the Navy oh so many years ago. And it’s all free!! The radar isn’t as fine granular as in some other apps, but it is world wide!! I didn’t eve know China had weather radar!! And when I was forecasting I didn’t have the access to all the different models that this app provides. This app is actually slightly better than the web-based app, which has a few frustrating glitches. Using this app, I was able to determine accurately that weren’t going to get snow or freezing rain this morning but rather a short period of ice pellets. I couldn’t have pulled it off with the tools that I had available to me 30 years ago.

I am a subscriber. The app is great, but I have been asking for what I believe to be a simple feature on the android app to implement, and it still has not yet appeared. I simply want to be able to adjust the weather picker location as I find its default location (towards the upper 3rd of the screen in the centre) not to be a useful location. I sent communication about this over 1 year ago and nothing has happened.
I’m a fan of the app since wind speed is often badly wrong in other weather apps. My only complaint is that the temperature doesn’t change to Fahrenheit, which I attempted to set in the initial setting prompt, on the settings page, and by carefully clicking on the temperature in the city forecast display. I’d make this my go-to weather app and subscribe, but this very basic flaw puts me off. Updated to reflect the fact that Fahrenheit/Celsius control now works.
Forecast accuracy is 70% in my location. Developer must improved on the hourly widget cause its to compact not real like symbols for the weather like overcast/rain/cloudy various other. Tq

I would concider it a very useful app, with some slight inprovements. One should be able to purchase a pro with an anual fee.
wonderful app
Great app, lots of information. What I dislike is the lack of ability to see all the information I need on a route (boating). I see wave height, but I also want to the frequency, I want to see the wind waves. All the info is there, but I have to close the route each time to change to another view. The app needs the ability to customize what I want to see and select multiple layers, like wind, wave, wind waves, and frequency. This is key to mariners!
Wow. Simple layout with a LOT of detail at your fingertips should you choose to access it (see the sandwich menu). Select the layers you want — or the weather model, even. I like that it gives projected rainfall AMOUNTS, rather than percentage of likelihood. Much more useful. Quite reliable, too. For all it’s features, if it were unreliable, I would find another app. But it’s become my go-to.

I was a monthly subscriber to the premium version of this amazing app for several years. Then, unforseen circumstances forced me to cancel my subscription a little over a year ago. Now I am happily ready to subscribe again only to discover that the monthly option appears to no longer exist. As this is the only option I am able to afford and I am extremely disappointed. This is precisely how developers lose customers. Not everybody can fork out the price of a years subscription all at once.

Forecast step is 1h and in consequence it is inaccurate to the point it becomes unusable. In my case, it has been raining for 15 minutes but the app shows it is not raining now and will start to rain in 40 minutes.
Si far this seems to be fairly accurate application. I like all the different information available. Once you go through the menu you can really see a lot of things which is excellent. One issues us that when I use it in a mountain location the temperature in winter is way off from a real temperatures night or day, i mean easily by more than 10 degrees. Now i understand better after the reply from developer of the app.

Great app, but freezes and crashes often. Windy is by far the most sophisticated app of its type that I’ve used. Provides wind forecasts (surface and aloft) provided by four meteorological models, as well as sky cover, cloud height, pressure, wave and swell heights and directions etc. Also presents forecasted soundings and current METARs and TAFs for airports that report them (which are many). The app crashes or freezes often, but is still very worthwhile for anyone dependent on weather.
After I updated the Windy app, the wind animation became worse, and the beta radar also disappeared. Please check and fix it.
