User Reviews for Windy APP

I really wish I had had this plethora of information this app provides when I was forecasting for a living in the Navy oh so many years ago. And it’s all free!! The radar isn’t as fine granular as in some other apps, but it is world wide!! I didn’t eve know China had weather radar!! And when I was forecasting I didn’t have the access to all the different models that this app provides. This app is actually slightly better than the web-based app, which has a few frustrating glitches. Using this app, I was able to determine accurately that weren’t going to get snow or freezing rain this morning but rather a short period of ice pellets. I couldn’t have pulled it off with the tools that I had available to me 30 years ago.

lots of options in the free version and paid version is still fairly priced for the additional features. Love that it is advanced and customizable enough to be used for a wide variety of activities but still not that crazy of a learning curve. Good app.

this is one of the greatest weather apps you can get if you’re a weather nerd. literally everything you could possibly want, no extraneous ads that make it hard to see, and it’s extremely intuitive. the only minor change I might make is swapping the label from “Rain” to “precipitation”, because it threw me off when I wanted to see the model predicted snowfall.

Inaccurate weather forecasts from my first few weeks of using the paid premium subscription. Other online free websites were giving more accurate predictions where I live. I used the paid subscription for less than a month and notified Windy of my dissatisfaction but they said they only provide refunds within 2 weeks. Oh well. I don’t recommend Windy if you are going to use it for weather forecasts. They have multiple weather forecast models, which is cool, but wasn’t better than free sources.

WOW….so much information in this app. Wind direction and speed, radar, precipitation, cloud cover, temperatures, forecasts…. and so much more! After using this app for three years, it only gets better. With the widgets, one can see the weather details on a map. I really like using Windy along with MeteoBlue to get a very good forecast and see current conditions for the local area. Again… Great work everyone!

If you don’t want a widget, Windy is the best weather app. Unfortunately, Widgets no longer work on Android w Pixel phones. You try to add a widget, and the widget settings buttons do nothing. On the off chance it puts a widget on your home screen, that widget will never load data from the app. Have changed battery optimization, notification, and myriad other settings to no avail. It’s really irritating, because otherwise the app is excellent and the weather is incredibly accurate.

Good app for the most part, but can be buggy. The widget doesn’t like to load, requiring refreshing often. Sometimes it displays celsius instead of fahrenheit. Profile page displays in basic HTML without a UI.

I love the concept, and the app provides much more data than most. I use it daily, but there is a problem. The map only updates with a drastic change in time. If you want to move forward one or two hours, you have to first move five or six hours away, then back to the time you want. This is particlarly bad in the temperature view.

The new update is horrible. The font is tiny, extremely tough to read. the app is ineligible now with all the numbers/letters so tight together and in a small font (impossible to read). You can’t distinguish which day is which and how big the waves are, temperature differential, I could go on. This app gets updated weekly, and the more they tinker, the worse it gets. Look elsewhere for an ocean forecast app

Excellent weather app with one problem- I can’t get the widget to work after last pixel update The app has every type of weather data you could possibly ask for and a beautiful map with a ton of overlays, multiple sites, etc. When the widget is fixed I’ll give it a 5 star without hesitation Oh yeah, works well on my pixel 2 watch.

Hi, thank you very much indeed for the application and for the continuous improvement and updates. I’ve been using the Windy app for a long time beside some other rising apps. My very much concern is accuracy, and I hope I will get settled with one of them, I hope Windy will be that one .
