User Reviews for Screen Orientation Control APP
Just installed and it seems to work, although I haven’t tried it with lots of apps. It allows you to select 5 controls (from a selection of eleven) to have in a control bar (also available on a widget). Of course, I would like to have 6: one for each orientation, one for full sensor mode and one to follow device default orientation. Alternatively, the portrait and reverse portrait functions could be combined into a single toggle portrait control and the same for the two landscape functions, allowing me my 6 functions in 4 buttons. The 5 other options available in the app are ‘sensor port'[rait] (i.e. will switch automatically between just the two portrait orientations), ‘sensor land'[scape], ‘lie left’, ‘lie right’ and ‘headstand’. I think the last three are to control orientation when the phone is lying flat. If you think the control bar looks ugly, you can adjust background and icon colour for both the active control and the inactive controls. This affects both the in-app control bar and the widget. There are ads but, as far as I can see, they are only in-app and once it is configured, the widget should suffice. I would like options for the app to activate automatically when headphones or charger are plugged in, as that is when I am most likely to want the reverse portrait mode. Also, as my homescreen does not do well in landscape, an option to leave the homescreen alone might be useful. If these are implemented, if I get my 6th function on the bar and if the app remains stable, then it would get 5 stars from me.

I use this app on my phone that has a big “dead zone” where I smashed the glass on the screen but I see no reason why it is such a rough build??? Please make the notification expandable and add some much needed options like… Display on half the screen, maybe a virtual back button. So far so good x o X o X o
It’s a simple but very useful app for my phone. Unfortunately, it didn’t work in my tablet.
I think this might be the first one that worked for my tablet. And it’s so easy and simple to use and understand.
Works good when system set to auto rotate, for simple basic orientation. Would be nice if the lie/lay left/right could work sensorless, ie with android tv boxes. ((For my ugoos am7 android 11 box (has root), I’ve been looking hard for some way to force/fake portrait mode when viewed in landscape mode (hdmi tv is physical landscape), the box does not have sensors, ideas?.))
It want this app to force rotation during ‘unspecified’ mode coz apps like instagram won’t rotate untill I choose rev potriat manually! It will nice if it rotates automatically when I rotate it !!
Good design, some orientations are buggy flipping back and forth, and it doesn’t rotate Settings or Lock Screen
I wish there was a way that chrome would stay portrait except when you start streaming video in full screen from any site. Yet remain locked to portrait when the video is not full screen. Same with messaging apps locked portrait, unless you open a photo or video in full screen. It seems like such a simple thing. That and for some reason when you save a contact there is no data collected on the date you added them.
(1) Splash screen is not dark (2) app doesn’t starts itself when device reboots.
Thank you! It was driving me crazy. Samsung S8 still rotated the landscape view with standard autorotate off. Your app fixed it.
Does not work all the time.
This is the best app for me making the orientation get changed for the study app and helps me a lot. Thanks for making such a beneficial app for everyone.
Sorry, I was partially wrong. A reboot fixed some of it. The problem remaining is with apps that call for input. For example, trying to add a contact in Contacts app brings up a form that doesn’t follow the current orientation. Added 2 stars.
Mostly good, crashes sometimes if you try to use it while an app such as Twitch is running, but that might be Android’s fault.
Absolutely the best app ever it makes texting so much comfortable especially with apps.
App keeps the user from clicking on the “block or allow” button when Chrome browser prompts for location settings. Samsung Galaxy S9+ Android 10, UI 2.0
This app is perfectly functional, but I expected the feature headstand to keep my screen image left to right when flipped upsidedown. But alas, it just rotates the image 180.
Great app for using Facebook live in landscape mode as the aforementioned app doesn’t allow livestreaming in landscape mode anymore. Also great on watching netflix in tall mode for those who are not fond of watching in landscape mode. The app seamlessly works except for some bugs when returning to home/app screen. I hope the devs may take note on this.
You would not be able to control it. It just shows everything landscape. It could be nice if let you to just make hime screen landscape.
This app works to change the screen orientation. Each mode landscape (more appropriate for streaming video some fixed image viewing , some text reading) or portrait as normal operating view. Mode must be deliberately and laboriously selected. Gone is the rapid free flow choice still possible in other android versions.
Love it! has just what I needed and a bunch more options (the widget is just 👌🏻👌🏻). There is only one thing missing (or that I would add): a “stop” button to be able to turn it off without having to open the app.
