User Reviews for Screen Orientation Control APP
Just installed and it seems to work, although I haven’t tried it with lots of apps. It allows you to select 5 controls (from a selection of eleven) to have in a control bar (also available on a widget). Of course, I would like to have 6: one for each orientation, one for full sensor mode and one to follow device default orientation. Alternatively, the portrait and reverse portrait functions could be combined into a single toggle portrait control and the same for the two landscape functions, allowing me my 6 functions in 4 buttons. The 5 other options available in the app are ‘sensor port'[rait] (i.e. will switch automatically between just the two portrait orientations), ‘sensor land'[scape], ‘lie left’, ‘lie right’ and ‘headstand’. I think the last three are to control orientation when the phone is lying flat. If you think the control bar looks ugly, you can adjust background and icon colour for both the active control and the inactive controls. This affects both the in-app control bar and the widget. There are ads but, as far as I can see, they are only in-app and once it is configured, the widget should suffice. I would like options for the app to activate automatically when headphones or charger are plugged in, as that is when I am most likely to want the reverse portrait mode. Also, as my homescreen does not do well in landscape, an option to leave the homescreen alone might be useful. If these are implemented, if I get my 6th function on the bar and if the app remains stable, then it would get 5 stars from me.

The only one that works on my tablet (8849 Tablet)

Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! I got a Z Fold 2 and like to use it on a stand as a tablet when I’m not on the go. Some apps, even the stock phone calling app, would turn portrait mode even if the phone was in landscape mode. Not any more. Now my phone is in full tablet mode and tested even with the most aggressive in portrait mode apps (don’t want to name them so they don’t take action against this app 🙂 ) Samsung should buy your app and use it on devices like the Z Fold 2. Congratulations!
works perfectly when it works. often stops and only resumes when I open the app.
It works well, but it constantly has something on top of other apps, which makes web browsers not work properly in some cases (like granting web-browser-inner-permission to do something). I hope in the future it will get fixed, because currently I can’t use it…
I want so much to love this app, but it has once significant flaw and one showstopper bug. The icons indicating ll North landscape screen orientations are back to front (the arrow in the icon points at the bottom of the screen, unlike for the portrait ones where it points at the top). Far worse though is that even when battery optimizations are explicitly disabled, the app constantly shuts itself down and has to be manually restarted before I can rotate my screen with it. Pity!
Works ok except when on the settings it keep spinning around. And worse we have to update every 2 weeks. Can someone tells me what is to update so often about an app that rotate your screen??
does it’s job, no fuss with ads
The only reason I am not giving this app 5 stars is that it’s name makes it hard for me to find it every time I need it. I am looking for a name containing “rotate” not “orientation” so every time I end up searching apps on my Play Store until I find this one to remember its name.
The best screen orientation app. I have been using this app for some time and although it takes time and effort to master, it does a perfect and reliable job. I recommend it!
Works
Works pretty good 90 percent of the time. I give it five stars if the reason is because I need to subscribe, and get 100 percent good performance.
Update 2: everything works after the newest update. Update 1: Got a response from dev, fix update coming. Original: After the recent update the the app stopped working. Any input via the notification bar will not respond.
More than excellent, a lifesaver app. it returnedcmy tablet back to me by allowing any app to work in any orientation.
ever since I got this app, I can testify it’s been the best. thanks to the developers
I like the presentation of this app over other rotation apps, but none of them can control my android Settings app. Is this normal? Every time I am taken to settings for anything, it uses the system rotation setting, which is very annoying. Is there a fix for this?
It works I guess?
Satisfactory
Solid app. I just wish there was a lock current orientation icon. You can do it, but have to find the icon that matches your current orientation instead of using a single button to just lock in your current orientation.
