User Reviews for RaspController APP
I really like this app and it is definitely close to a 5 star app already. However, It doesn’t seem to support the new libcamera package which, according to the raspberry pi folks, has replaced the raspi-cam suit of tools. I would really love to see this supported. Additionally, it would be really great if we could create a custom “landing page” per raspberry pi… ie, a single button and camera output, or a custom command, camera output, and a gpio etc. It would simply use existing functions already contained in the app. Despite all of this I still paid for a lifetime license to support the creators of this great app. Hopefully I can raise this review up to 5 stars as soon as I can use my camera thru it again.

The best Pi app I’ve found. A very polished appearance and tons of features. Would love to see more camera options though, like the ability to select an even higher resolution or a faster refresh rate. An excellent tool nevertheless and well worth the subscription fee!
Fast connection to pi. Gives access to many things. Would be better still if people could control what are the main options … we dont all have sensors leds etc … allow people to put custom commands as main options as well.
App is handy for people that run default OS for RPI. Only few basic stuff work on different distros. Unable to configure sensors over i2c port. I use mostly MotionEyeOS and this app has use only for configure gpio pins. Cpu usage can be seen only with “top’ command in ssh shell. Hope you add more features like i2c sensors and more native reading of OS info.
If you manage Raspberry Pi devices, this may well be the only tool you’ll need for remote access, monitoring, and administrative tasks. Most things take only a couple of taps and it’s dead easy to use. It does not work on pi-like non-pi devices such as ODroids, which is unfortunate but understandable. Highly recommended for anyone with one or more Pi devices in their house or office.
A well-written and well-documented app, with easy-to-use settings and controls. I’ve just set it up to control my garage door from my phone (and I can also access the camera and temp-humidity sensors in the garage). I have one suggestion for the developer: being able to customise a home screen with often-used buttons, such as GPIO control, or CPU status.
Overall this app is great and the premium version is well worth the small price. My only complaint is the terminal. If I scroll while the keyboard is hidden, it pops back up. This can leave you with a small space to read the terminal text. It does have a pdf output option (which is pretty handy) so it’s not impossible to read the terminal output. This is a minor problem with what is a stable, clean, simple and very useful app.
Excellent app, works great.
The app is great but drains battery – 22% by running in a background. Android 10 Pixel 3a. Background running restriction is necessary to use it in your phone.
Mostly works well. Does not show the pi camera though. Just causes icons to flash.
Hope to see more functionality in the future
Works well as an SSH client, which is why I installed. Eventually I may come to use the other funcfions as well but I like it.
Some nice features (and the developer was super fast at responding to this review). Monitoring option installs the Python psutils package (see Italian response from dev below) without asking for permission (note requires root password, if denied root password it looks like this fails).
overall a good application. I would like to see a little more compatibility with linux servers that are not on a raspberry pi. That would make this app a 5 star application.
i want to know that. what communication protocol used this app?
Looks promising, however, could not get the camera feature to work when attached from my Nexus 10. (The screen remained black – whereas another app with that feature works.)
Pro version is reasonably priced. It includes functionality of several smaller apps in one place. Sending command line instructions, sftp, monitoring camera with option to save locally in mobile, getting some of the common sensor data. update: over the years it gained number of new functionality. Very useful.
Great app, I would pay for – but the subscription plans is a robbery. There should be more affordable plans for people with less devices. I have only one RPi…
Great app but questionable high lifetime cost make this a must for RP geeks and masters mainly. It is unrivalled in functionality.
all what you need in one app
great app except for the noisy ads, if you have to have ads mute them
