User Reviews for My Aurora Forecast & Alerts APP

Nice interface. Anssuming it’s accurate in real time, It may be useful although it’s never been clear when auroras were happening where I am so I can’t say for sure. Map is nice, though chunky. The forecasts – meh. I keep an eye on space weather and when there’s a CME the app’s predictions of activity lag way behind. And the long term forecast seems wildly unrealistic (no one knows when a sunspot is going to explode a week or two from now,) and doesn’t seem to have any connection with reality.

I woke up this morning to an alert from the app to say there had been a chance to see the Aurora at 02.09. Lots of complicated sciencey stuff too, which I must try and figure out what they mean!!

So far, no more informative than government websites, just different ways of portraying it.

So I downloaded the app because I was headed to northern Maine and heard the lights might be visible. And they were! However I didn’t get notified because little did I know the app has a “don’t send notifications during the summer” checkbox that is checked by default. So I missed the event entirely. Would be better for a user to get one useless notification and have to check that box than to get no notification that would have been useful and miss a fairly rare event in the northern US

I missed the last sittings of the lights last month, so I joined this in order to get notifications. Bingo, the alerts went off. I was able to watch the probability of when and where to expect them. Wow, the sky was dancing with colors tonight. I’d recommend this site to everyone.

Got the chance to see the aurora today after this apps sent a notification to my phone. Although the chance stated by the apps is only between 12% to 20%, but hey I’ve seen this magical light. Will continue using this apps during my trip in Iceland. Thanks and all the best

Though I haven’t seen an aurora in my location, this is q nice map to look for cloudiness also. Which I do when I want to see the night sky. I’ve had no problems with it.

The forecast feature is nicely laid out and easily accessible, but I dont see any way to set alerts, which is what I wanted it for

Good app which shows Aurora probability pretty well and allowed me to see some nice ones in Sweden. However, I find it misses a key component in the analysis: sunlight. It would be nice to take this into consideration for the analysis. Including the moon would also be nice, but I believe that for now sunlight would be a pretty nice major addition.

Extremely accurate. Not sure about the cloud cover in the map. It’s unrealistic and looks horrible. The cloud percentage is also inaccurate. I just want to see the probabilities like we used to have. I know I can toggle to it to off but wish we could save our settings so the clouds do not load at all. I’ve used this app for years and recommend often. @toddgravenphotography on IG and FB. Thx for your help!!!
