User Reviews for My Aurora Forecast & Alerts APP

Nice interface. Anssuming it’s accurate in real time, It may be useful although it’s never been clear when auroras were happening where I am so I can’t say for sure. Map is nice, though chunky. The forecasts – meh. I keep an eye on space weather and when there’s a CME the app’s predictions of activity lag way behind. And the long term forecast seems wildly unrealistic (no one knows when a sunspot is going to explode a week or two from now,) and doesn’t seem to have any connection with reality.

Great for auroras but I almost never get a chance down here in southeast Nebraska. But the kp could still be useful and is what I was looking for and not auroras. 5 or higher can affect navigation (ie built in to vehicles or app, I prefer google maps over vehicle, gmaps is pretty easy while vehicle is long several buttons complex navigation to setup) and 7 or higher can have indirect impacts to electronics beyond just navigation.

This app is awesome! The details and quality in this app is incredible fun to explore, the ocean for example is so detailed with I’m assuming elevation was so fun to look at. Love it has live cam option, viewers photos, the sun update photos (I do wish it would give a description on what your looking at with the sun, such as the giant hole thing or the different colors between photos) Best part is its free, no annoying ads or pop-ups, ur loosing nothing downloading it.

This used to work great and get notifications but I have not gotten any even when the news reports them be visible. Really wish I could get this fixed. I’d buy the pro version if it had widgets 🙁

It is a good app and works well, BUT it uses a ton of data, even after using it for only a few seconds.

In Alaska I get an alert almost every night. But the app doesn’t check against the weather APIs so it’s mostly false alarms as often incliment weather here.

Good, except it does not pinpoint my location. It picks a broader area in a city 60 miles away from me.

Why the pop-up ad when I try to go to the map? Can’t close it can’t go back. Have to close the app and reopen it. I’m about done with this. Only reason I still have it is for the notifications that sort of work.

It gave me accurate , current information… however I was bummed that it couldn’t give me potential – possibilities for seeing Auroras in my area over several days . ( or longer.)

Would rate it higher if it gave me notifications based not just on aurora but cloud cover. Why alert me for high aura visibility when there is 90% cloud cover?

I wish was a little easier to find the NOAA aurora forecast images easier. It’s just an icon you click above the map. I wish there was the animated one on here.

Very useful app! It was extremely helpful while chasing the North lights. Pretty accurate and I loved the alerts when the chances to see them in my area are high. Thanks to it I managed to plan and see them 😍 It would be good to have short intro to what the indexes mean and how to read them, though (e.g. what KP means and what do the numbers stand for)

I took a chance when the app said 0% chance I would see the lights on Thursday….I went anyone and the sky was lit up with color
