Typically, "Indian Rummy" is played between 4 participants, each receiving 13 cards, and with 2 decks of cards. To declare a match, a participant must have a pure sequence (Initial Life), pure or impure sequence (Second Life), and a set of four cards. If a participant is unable to make a pure sequence (Initial Life), they receive 80 markers in total.
