"Paranormal Detectives" is a deduction match where one participant becomes the Ghost and the others become "Paranormal Detectives". The objective of the match is for the Detectives to discover how the victim died by using paranormal abilities to communicate with the Ghost. The Ghost answers the Detectives' open questions in a variety of ghostly ways, such as by creating word puzzles or dratriumphg by holding the hand of a Detective. The Ghost participant receives a story card with a full description of the murder, while each Detective receives an asymmetrical set of interaction cards, a participant investigation sheet, and a participant screen. Detectives take turns asking the Ghost open questions and playing a single interaction card, which determines how the Ghost can answer. The match allows for lots of creativity on both sides. Twice during the match, the Detectives may try to guess what happened to the victim by stating who the killer was, where it happened, the motive, how it was done, and the murder weapon. The companion app provides additional crime stories for participants to solve.
