I really wish I had had this plethora of information this app provides when I was forecasting for a living in the Navy oh so many years ago. And it’s all free!! The radar isn’t as fine granular as in some other apps, but it is world wide!! I didn’t eve know China had weather radar!! And when I was forecasting I didn’t have the access to all the different models that this app provides. This app is actually slightly better than the web-based app, which has a few frustrating glitches. Using this app, I was able to determine accurately that weren’t going to get snow or freezing rain this morning but rather a short period of ice pellets. I couldn’t have pulled it off with the tools that I had available to me 30 years ago.

    My favorite weather app. The customization options are great. I can make the data appear in the order that is most useful for me. And I can choose the data provider I want. Fantastic. I would like it if the provider options could have their positions in the list changed to an order that works best for me and the providers I would be likely to use. Other than that, great app.

    I like the interface a lot. The User Experience is very good too for huge amount of data. Plus it manages them in a fluid manner. Time laps into future days are good. Like the wind, rain collection, temperature… CO2 map is quite scary. Favourite locations works. Gone the annoying default location somewhere far away every time an app was open.

    It was great until the last update. Now it is way harder to use the widget. Either one has create an account to add a place to favorites (it used to not require login), or allow the location access all the time. Until it is reverted, I guess I’m staying with standard weather widgets. It is really a pity, since the forecast models as well as the app itself are great.

    The app has been working great for me, but recently I’m getting notifications while I”m not using the app about nonsense that has to do with the app instead of anything to do with the weather. I don’t want “CHECK OUT THIS NEW FEATURE!” notifications, but there isn’t a way to turn them off. If I turn them off from the android side then I don’t get wind alerts. Having the info about a new feature showing up when I open the app is fine, but notifications when I’m not using it? Not cool.

    Awesome app. But the Widget suddenly broke on both my Android devices about 2 weeks ago. Permanently says ‘Updating Widget”, even when I restart the phone or delete and re-add the Widget. And Yes, I have configured my battery settings and power settings to allow everything for this app and it still does it.

    Great app and I have been Premium user BUT can’t renew subscription. Link takes me to list of my subscriptions and Windy isn’t on it!

    The application is really good and very simple to use, though sometimes the predictions aren’t accurate. But I still appreciate their work.

    This app is perfect in so many ways. When I first started using it, I was a couple miles offshore in a sailboat and needed to know what the wind was going to be doing. Easy peasy – it shows that right away and it’s probably the best app on the market for that. A couple weeks later I’m concerned with the wave height – lo and behold, Windy does that too. Is there fog nearby? The forecast map doesn’t show much, but they have video feeds at certain locations and I can tap into those. The list goes on and on. It’s the best broad-view weather app, in my opinion.

    is good for world weather. only major complaint…. cannot turn off lightning strike vibration. cute feature for about 10 seconds. after that it’s just annoying and a battery waste. the white flashes are more than adequate to draw attention to the lightning strikes.

    Pretty good. Not as accurate as Weather Underground used to be but its my new weather app. The need for better accuracy keeps me from giving a 5 star rating however, its great if youre an aviator or outdoorsman. Korina, it was when I first started using the app but after about a week or so I noticed it got to be a lot better. Edit: As of today, May 3 2023, if location is not enabled I cannot view the weather radar. Uninstalling.

    I almost never buy app subscriptions but I subscribe to Windy. The free version is great, the paid version adds some features that are definitely worth it. Having access to so many different weather models so easily and so well-integrated is awesome. I do not believe I have seen an app with such excellent integration of weather radar and lightning mapping as well.

    Love the App…..but I wish they had a prog chart layer that showed cold warm front boundaries and I wish we could reorder our favorite layer icons. Last comment is about color options on some layers. I had to spend a lot of time changing the color coding on wind layers because they don’t use the more common “green” is good and “red” is bad transitions. The color coding should flow more naturally. Other than that it’s my go-to App to start my flight planning and weather checks. Well done.
