I really wish I had had this plethora of information this app provides when I was forecasting for a living in the Navy oh so many years ago. And it’s all free!! The radar isn’t as fine granular as in some other apps, but it is world wide!! I didn’t eve know China had weather radar!! And when I was forecasting I didn’t have the access to all the different models that this app provides. This app is actually slightly better than the web-based app, which has a few frustrating glitches. Using this app, I was able to determine accurately that weren’t going to get snow or freezing rain this morning but rather a short period of ice pellets. I couldn’t have pulled it off with the tools that I had available to me 30 years ago.

    This is my go-to app for radar, basic satellite, hurricane, and sea temperatures. The only thing missing are frontal maps (yes, you can scope them other maps). I still use NOAA for hourly forecasts of precipitation types and amounts.

    Looks nice, I love all the data you can access with it. It’s pretty unintuitive to use as a general purpose weather app though. I like to stay in radar view to see upcoming weather, and always somehow end up moving the forecast off of my location. Plus the lightning bolt effect is extremely annoying and vibrates my device like mad, wish I could just turn it off but I’ve looked all over for a setting.

    Easy to use. Has been very handy during the Australian bushfire crisis to identify where the wind changes are and air quality. Love the other features but havent had much use to use them as yet.

    Thanks for the reply. I already tried to delete the widget and add it back but it didn’t work. However the notification disappeared somehow since yesterday. It might be a server side issue? ‐———- Someone reported an issue that I am also experiencing hasn’t fixed yet. A notification stays forever that says “updating widget” since last update. It also has an issue on determining location for local weather. Was a good app until this happens. Seems like it is draining battery.

    hand down this is undeniably thee best weather app have ever ever come across, has endless layers to its map with a plethora of options for each layer, it would take me weeks on end to fully explore what is available here, even just the free version! EDIT: wanted 2 share my opinion outside of reviews, but couldn’t find where- quite disappointed they got rid of the “beta” layer, the layer i exclusively used, nothing has replaced it an satellite layer is not the same, beta had many more options

    I was looking for another weather forecasting apps i have been using for the longest time when i come upon WINDY. I was satisfied with its ‘amenities’ sort of. And am still discovering, for i know there’s got to be other functionalities this app could offer and ready to be unravel. BIG thanks.

    I liveaboard my sailboat. This app is literally a lifesaver. Indispensable to all those at sea, every sailor I know uses this app every. single. day. Able to switch between models, show multiple elevations, separate swell and wind wave heights, access to weather radars and satellite photos, and a view of the entire worlds weather patterns all interacting with each other. This is the worlds best weather app by so far there is no competition! Thank you windy!

    Best weather app by far! Like the old intellicast app (lots of data detail), but 10x better! Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts (boating, sailing, kite boarding, wind surfing, pilots and the like)… prob too much detail for noobs who only want too know if it’s sunny outside. All other weather apps out there dumb down their info to the point where it’s useless. Windy actually provides the level of data needed to make real decisions. The app is 100% free, but I donated to help keep them running
