This article describes the features of the "Lux Meter" app, which measures illuminance (the intensity of light on a device's surface) using the ambient light sensor found on most mobile devices. The app accurately displays illuminance in either lux or foot-candle units and features a six-second graph for tracking changes over time. There are three control buttons: one for changing the unit of measurement, one for calibration, and one for resetting values.
