SO FAR I like this sound meter, however I have to run it next to my Amprobe SM-20(ANALOG) and my Fluke-945 (DIGITAL) to check its authenticity as relevant to reliability! In regards to ADS in the app, any ad is disruptive but these are really not in anyones way, but yes there are ads! What I REALLY DON’T LIKE in this tool is icons that lead me into other apps (compass, vibration meter) that I REALLY DON’T want added in my sound meter app!! BUT, I do like having this sound meter tool in my phone, that way as a professional audio engineer and drummer I always have a sound meter with me!!!😁

    Works great. I can calibrate the microphone, pause the sample, and it also gives an average dB value. Unfortunetely though, it is a bit aggressive in the ads, polluting the interface and snagging about “rate me”. I was also once redirected to an ad site without touching the ad bar. Two stars lost for uncomfortable ads.

    Downloaded the app to help settle discussions at work about where ear protection is required (I work in a factory). Seems to work ok (without anything to calibrate against) but I was very surprised to find the ad strip features many with VERY loud music which renders the app useless if you wish to check other media.

    Handy tool but no way to determine it’s accuracy. There is an option to calibrate the microphone, but there aren’t any instructions on how to do it.

    I am impressed!! One thing that I ESPECIALLY like is that this app uses my phone’s built-in microphone even if I have my Bluetooth headset turned on — which saves me the inconvenience of having to turn off the headset to use the app. Good thinking, developers!! Now, if only it had the option to turn the display upside-down – that way the display would appear righside-up to me when I’m holding my phone to point the microphone outward.

    It would rate higher if there were instructions on how to calibrate levels. Otherwise it’s pretty much useless. If your base isn’t calibrated correctly none of the rest matters.
