User Reviews for Sound Meter APP

SO FAR I like this sound meter, however I have to run it next to my Amprobe SM-20(ANALOG) and my Fluke-945 (DIGITAL) to check its authenticity as relevant to reliability! In regards to ADS in the app, any ad is disruptive but these are really not in anyones way, but yes there are ads! What I REALLY DON’T LIKE in this tool is icons that lead me into other apps (compass, vibration meter) that I REALLY DON’T want added in my sound meter app!! BUT, I do like having this sound meter tool in my phone, that way as a professional audio engineer and drummer I always have a sound meter with me!!!😁

This is a great app. I tend to speak too loud, always have. I am getting worse as I get older. Lol. This is not over burdened with ads, just discrete banner ads at top of screen. There are various options to consider, one records sounds on moving graph, another has analog speedometer type, which conveniently shows a high spot, and an average, I think, but allows a quick glance at sounds recorded. There is also a reset and pause, and the screen can be locked on. All in all a great app.

●●This is a G▪R▪E▪A▪T APP! The “left handed” controls option feature IMPRESSED ME beyond belief. NEVER GET RID OF THIS Keep this for other products. Could YOU could make it so the INPUT can be changed to switch BETWEEN Mic Internal Sources. Even if the phone/tablet mic wasn’t as accurate (could be separately calibrated??) It could turn into a PROFESSIONAL TOOL that could be used on the job. Also, LANDSCAPE MODE for use on a tablet is a absolute MUST. This would make it much more USEFUL!

Relatively accurate at low volume levels. The app may be limited by device capability. With my Pixel 4a 5G it maxes out around 80db. I hit volumes of 122db with a real decibel meter and the app says 81db. It’s a fun toy if you want to tell a friend they are talking too loud, but if you want to test a stereo or professional PA system, buy a real decibel meter.

not sure of the accuracy, still reads 45db under a pillow in a completely quiet room .. 10 db lower than other apps… used to test motorcycle exhaust

Constant Google ad but that’s a small price to pay for the added functionality this app provides my brief testing shows it to be accurate enough for personal use on my note10+. The graphing, polling interval option and background colour options are valuable all that’s missing for me is a raw text output to file and the option to keep logging in the background

Simple to use … just I like it. Haven’t tested it’s accuracy, but for directly comparing things, it’s wonderful.

Wish they’d tell us what’s in the updates. , I hate Blindly updating apps. Very nice little sound meter. Once I calibrated it to read 0 in a totally noise free atmosphere, it seems to work fairly well. It’s not a super high tech sound meter, but for a quick reference of sound levels, it does the job very nicely. I like that you can pull a list of noise levels up for reference and it has a dark theme / skin. keep up the good work.

It does what you’d expect. But, it’s usually 10db different then the other sound app I have on my phone. I’m not sure which is correct, especially since this app mentions manual calibration which you wouldn’t need if it was correct. Right? I haven’t read their security policy yet to see what they do with their recordings.

I have 100% hearing loss in my left ear and 35% hearing loss in my right. Having this app helps me to preserve the hearing that I still have.

Nice app. Used two days in a row for 8 hour/day and no crashes, unlike another app I tried. Two improvement ideas…a timer that goes beyond 59:59. As is cannot prove that data was derived over an 8 hour period. The other is the ability to save the data.

This a very useful Sound Meter. It could be a great detector if the data could be logged in a spread sheet and tagged with date and time. I especially appreciated the writer’s honest caution regarding microphone calibration. For my use that is a capability I don’t need as I am interested only in a relative record. (I am not collecting evidence.)

Works very well and any ads are quite unobtrusive. I’ve tried a couple of other sound meter apps, that were highly rated for some reason and the ads were so invasive, it made them virtually impossible to use.
