User Reviews for Screen Orientation Control APP
Just installed and it seems to work, although I haven’t tried it with lots of apps. It allows you to select 5 controls (from a selection of eleven) to have in a control bar (also available on a widget). Of course, I would like to have 6: one for each orientation, one for full sensor mode and one to follow device default orientation. Alternatively, the portrait and reverse portrait functions could be combined into a single toggle portrait control and the same for the two landscape functions, allowing me my 6 functions in 4 buttons. The 5 other options available in the app are ‘sensor port'[rait] (i.e. will switch automatically between just the two portrait orientations), ‘sensor land'[scape], ‘lie left’, ‘lie right’ and ‘headstand’. I think the last three are to control orientation when the phone is lying flat. If you think the control bar looks ugly, you can adjust background and icon colour for both the active control and the inactive controls. This affects both the in-app control bar and the widget. There are ads but, as far as I can see, they are only in-app and once it is configured, the widget should suffice. I would like options for the app to activate automatically when headphones or charger are plugged in, as that is when I am most likely to want the reverse portrait mode. Also, as my homescreen does not do well in landscape, an option to leave the homescreen alone might be useful. If these are implemented, if I get my 6th function on the bar and if the app remains stable, then it would get 5 stars from me.

This app stopped me from committing suicide in frustration with my Huawei M5 tablet! Okay so I exaggerate slightly, but you get the point. It just works. Straight from the Play store. Including auto-orient and reverse portrait for those badly behaved apps like Kindle or Reviewmeta. Is there a paid version to support the development? I could not see one.
Pretty good app. My actual rating would be a 4.5 star though i can’t give the half star. The only reason why would be because not all apps work with this. The biggest issueI have is that discord does not apply accordingly. Despite setting to “only portrait”, it still goes landscape when my phone’s orientation is set to auto.
유튜브 화면회전 잘 됩니다
Used to be good, but after I updated my mobile android to 13, it’s not working as it supposed to work. Uninstall it.
I really love this app due to only half my phone screen works since i broke it. There are times when it doesn’t want to rotate, and I have to go back and restart the app. Other than that it’s great!!!!!
The app I used to use is no longer available on the play store so I had to search around for a replacement. I tried a few and found this to be the best and most useable. Pity there isn’t a paid version that gets rid of the ads as I would like to donate something to the developer for their work. But you only see the ads when you go into the app which is only when initially setting it up so it’s no real hardship.
My computer tablet is in a case that keeps it standing in a horizontal position on a table. It was irritating when certain apps like the weather ones that I have would turn things sideways, making it very hard to see anything. Im glad I found this orientation control app. Facebook Marketplace doesnt show everything when the screen is horizontal, so this doesnt work for that one, but it works well for most apps.
very helpful, especially for facebook
Works very well, just wish there was an option to either remove the persistent notification icon from my status bar, or make it invisible. Would be willing to pay for that feature.
Works perfectly for taming apps such as Zoom that forcibly enable auto-rotate. Enabling it is a bit cumbersome though, since I have to find the app in the drawer every time (I don’t like keeping it active at all times). Would be great if you could add a quick-settings tile for that.
First app that seems to properly allow for 180 degree rotation so I can stand my phone upside down and still use it to charge without the plug getting in the way. Thank You!
A life saver. I got a dead spot on my screen that blocks some very important buttons on apps, but using this lets me avoid the dead spot. Being able to stay in portrait mode while lying on my side is very nice too. My one suggestion would be that once the sensor settings are stable, I’d like to see the addition of one that allows other apps to set portrait or landscape, but ensures that the sensor can be used to flip it.
This was the fix for my custom rom problem. I needed to reverse the sensor data and this was the solution. Thank you very much.
A great app that does more than I need it to! Instead of only having global settings like some similar apps, behavior can be controlled for each individual app, whether portrait, landscape, rotate with the device, plus many other options! This is the most comprehensive orientation control app I have tried, and the settings are very easy to manage. My only reason for not giving 5 stars, is a fairly regular need to manually update the app, as it seems to stop running if an update is available.
I haven’t a boma phone is ZTE hot habanero something, and I don’t think the auto rotation whatever synchronized when the phone was new so there’s nothing the app can do other than what it already does which is rotate the screen when it’s in the perfect f****** position thank you Google. No we’re going to have to define English aren’t we should get Nancy polinsky out here. She’ll hold your hand Google I won’t.
I tried this app because I wanted to be able to turn my phone upside down while charging so the USB cable was out of the way. Now I realize that wanted more, like control over landscape independent of auto-rotate, and selecting any fixed rotation regardless of phone orientation. I know because this app does all that and more.
Needs a transparent background option, otherwise it’d be perfect.
Untill recently the app worked fine, but now Duolingo freezes at startup. Only if i “stop” the SOC app, then start Duoling and wait until I have entered the starting page, and then start SOC, Duolingo pages turns from portrait to landscape model and I can continue working on my Galaxy Tab 5e tablet
Works… kinda? So it seems functional but for one key problem: even with battery opt and any specific ram opt’s removed, it seems to never stay on for long. When running, it works brilliantly. I just wish it was reliable. Or google would have some bloody sense and make per-app rotation controls an OS-level setting. Is there some obvious reason I’m having this issue? I’ve done all the standard “anti-kill” tweaks, even pinned it in the RAM overview, but lucky to last a day. 6GB RAM. LG G8X TQ.
Seems to be working OK, as far as I can see.
