User Reviews for Screen Orientation Control APP

Just installed and it seems to work, although I haven’t tried it with lots of apps. It allows you to select 5 controls (from a selection of eleven) to have in a control bar (also available on a widget). Of course, I would like to have 6: one for each orientation, one for full sensor mode and one to follow device default orientation. Alternatively, the portrait and reverse portrait functions could be combined into a single toggle portrait control and the same for the two landscape functions, allowing me my 6 functions in 4 buttons. The 5 other options available in the app are ‘sensor port'[rait] (i.e. will switch automatically between just the two portrait orientations), ‘sensor land'[scape], ‘lie left’, ‘lie right’ and ‘headstand’. I think the last three are to control orientation when the phone is lying flat. If you think the control bar looks ugly, you can adjust background and icon colour for both the active control and the inactive controls. This affects both the in-app control bar and the widget. There are ads but, as far as I can see, they are only in-app and once it is configured, the widget should suffice. I would like options for the app to activate automatically when headphones or charger are plugged in, as that is when I am most likely to want the reverse portrait mode. Also, as my homescreen does not do well in landscape, an option to leave the homescreen alone might be useful. If these are implemented, if I get my 6th function on the bar and if the app remains stable, then it would get 5 stars from me.

This is a tool app that can change the orientation and rotation of the screen regardless of the attributes of the displayed application.
The screen can be fixed in a specific orientation or, conversely, rotated according to the sensor.
You can change the screen orientation from the notification area. It is also possible to associate a specific application with the screen orientation and switch settings when the application starts.
Not all settings are available because some screen orientations are

Brilliant app. Works great on my Galaxy S25 Ultra. Does a much better job than the default orientation button.

Orientation Control appears to do exactly what a certain $3.49 app does— but without playing a notification alert, twice, every time I unlock phn. Also like that other app, rotation of home screen icons and widgets is imperfect: in landscape the icons shrink, are horiz spaced farther apart (because grid doesn’t rotate), and no icon names. Also does a bad job with clock and weather widgets, but I suspect it can’t be helped. Doesn’t seem to work on lock screen.

Samsung put the charger side on the wrong side of my A7 tablet. Should be up not down where it gets in the way. Rotation lock used to work but not after latest update. Many apps are flipping over. This app fixed my problem. Crazy that you have to get a special app to fix something that should be a standard control.

Great. As advertised. works perfectly for my phone. I do wish it would start when I boot up my phone, but I’ll take what I can get.

Works great on an old Google nexus tablet with locked onboard controls. Fab that its easy to access and change rotation as the contols stay in the notification bar at the top of the screen. So much nicer than other apps tried.

Why would an app like this need to update so often

It is the best and very simple to use screen-orientation-control app for a ‘Tablet’ device, and its free (and better) unlike other similar but paid apps. Now I use my tablet in always ‘landscape’ mode with a keyboard-case, feels just like using mini laptop (for this experience both my keyboard-case and this app are thankfully responsible). Thanks to the developer team for making this useful app and in free version.

Works OK for average use cases. The forced sensor one doesn’t work very well when entering username and password with autofill service on (bitwarden). It also failed to keep the rotation after making the running application a pop-up window then maximise back to fullscreen

over the past handful of years across a varied handful of sundry devices I’ve used various sundry utilities to force a particular orientation for a few different reasons. over that time, everytime one of those opportunities presented itself, for one reason or another I’d find myself finding a different solution. why? because – why not..? lately tho, regarding the app in question, the answer lies not in the question – why not? indeed, the answer to the question – why not? is the question – why..?

It’s great. It would be even better if it had a auto rotation mode.

Great solution…I had this headphone jack issue earlier. For straight audio jack, we can not rest the phone vertically on our belly. I was even considering buying L shaped jack because of this problem. But now no need since I can turn display upside down so audio jack goes on the top..hurrreee..Amazing find. Edit – Please add a switch in the switch panel so that service can be started from the switch panel without actually launching the app
