Aaaaaaaaaaaah finally!!!!!!!! Found one without a billion popups or ads at all! Just the app itself is an ad for Trend Micro, but it’s a great app. So brilliant ad guys and thank you! Only downside I’ve noticed is that i couldn’t seem to copy a weblink after scanning the qr code for it, but you get 5 stars from me anyway! It’s a minor niggle and the app saves the weblink and whether it’s safe or not. So thank you again! Was doing my head in all those awful ad spam ones, saved by trend micro! XXX

Works. No fuss. No ads
Does what it’s supposed to do…and lightning-fast. Best of all, no intrusive ads. In fact, I haven’t seen an ad. The speed of the Trend Micro QR Code and Barcode reader is the best I’ve seen. Really shines when I’m reading Manhattan bus QR codes to get realtime ETA.
Easy to use
To echo many other reviews – brilliant, simple, easy! This scanner easily reads even tiny 5mm² QR codes, which I found other readers just couldn’t handle. Kudos to Trend, who are one of the biggest best IT security company. Oh, did I mention this app is free and has none of those annoying ads! 👍😃. Thank you, Trend. Bravo! 👏👏👏
Easy to install and reliable
Not a single ad in sight. It does exactly what you need it to. A QR code can be scanned without having to focus or get it in any specific square / position. It’ll just works, just like they say it will. Did I mention no ads? These guys don’t even ask for a donation… Pity cause I would.
Requires camera permission as it uses that to read QR code.
Does not allow me to copy the url without opening the website. Otherwise it does the job.
A must have for everyone with the rise of QR scams.
Easy to install, worked immediately, and the app didn’t force you to register and provide a login and credit card. Unlike many others in the PlayStore, it didn’t load up with ads at 2nd scan. Or 1st! Lot of junk in the store for QR scanning apps!
Needed for work
Retried the program and now it works as expected. It would seem the QR code I was trying wasn’t as sharp, so wasn’t being read. I tried a sharper QR code and it was read within a second or so.
Great and easy to use.
Very good app
I only used it once. Worked flawlessly. Permissions asked for access to “contacts” and phone apps (or something to that effect). Since malware and theft of private information is so rampant, I UNINSTALLED (and rebooted) as soon as my single-use need for scanning was met.
it works well in the beginning but after the trial period is over, I can only scan but cannot open the browser, can only share data (browser) or copy data. For what? I need to open up the QR Code.
Needs an option to “always allow” all from a certain domain. E.g. QR Codes for store checkins in South Australia all have a link back to a central server. Always allowing these domains would save a lot of time!
