Samsung's user interface, previously called Samsung Experience Home, has been renamed and redesigned as One UI Home. The new layout features neatly arranged icons and two screens that fit Galaxy devices. Novel features available with Android Pie include full-screen gestures, the ability to lock the home screen layout after rearranging app icons, and quick access to app info or widget settings screens. These features require an update to Android 9.0 Pie or later. The app service requires some permissions, including storage and contacts for restoring home screen layout data and contact widget information. Users can reset previously allowed permissions on the Apps menu in device settings after a software update.
