User Reviews for My Aurora Forecast & Alerts APP

Nice interface. Anssuming it’s accurate in real time, It may be useful although it’s never been clear when auroras were happening where I am so I can’t say for sure. Map is nice, though chunky. The forecasts – meh. I keep an eye on space weather and when there’s a CME the app’s predictions of activity lag way behind. And the long term forecast seems wildly unrealistic (no one knows when a sunspot is going to explode a week or two from now,) and doesn’t seem to have any connection with reality.

The tiniest ‘x’ on the ads. Come on we all know nobody wants to see ads, have them pop up if you just and let us dismiss them more easily.

It’s s good app but the ads sometimes show up and yes if you of course pay for it they’ll not show up! Lately this app hasn’t been notifying me like it had.

We had great success using this app while cruising around Iceland in August. As pointed out by some other reviewer, I first unchecked the default option to not send notifications in summer and was able to see the northern lights. Pictures with a “nighttime” mode help get some really awesome pictures.

So there is useful info, it just doesn’t have anything explaining what that info means

Accurate alerts. GREAT! and as an astro photography, I also use the “cloud cover” feature. 98% of the time, it’s spot on.

Great App. I downloaded the top 7 and this was the only one i kept so i opted to upgrade it. Lots of great features. Clean design. Looks like i wont be able to see any Auroras anytime soon but at least i wont have to waste my time staring up at the sky at night while walking into elk.

Other than annoying ads, it’s a good app.

Great predictions, and I love the notifications! It’s amazing that it also shows the clouds coverage!

pretty good app! I get notified when an aurora is happening so I can step outside and have a look. one thing that would be convinient is logging what time users report sightings. It’s nice to see that others nearby reported sightings but knowing how recently would be great.

Down from 5 stars to 3 because of the annoying ads. If you’re still running an older version, don’t update!

As of lately, it has been very off with readings. The app says my location has a 15% chance of seeing the lights with a KP of 2. Looking outside it’s clear as day with zero clouds

App is good for a general idea about the aurora. I felt it was not in real time and if I used wjat I could see on the app I was getting out too late to catch the peak. App quit providing alerts.

This app is new to me, the fact that it indicates areas thats visible and the intensity per location makes it excellent to have.

I’m so happy with this app! It’s full of intersting worldwide forecasts and live maps. You can opt in for notifications when the aurora conditions are good for that night, or within the hour, which is so cool. I do wish the app gave more local prediction data (like historical trends for the area I’m in). It would be nice to see what seasons I should plan to have outings in for my area.

Two troubles: * It isn’t clear in diagrams if the aurora will happen the night to a date or the night from a date * I usually use black-n-white night mode in the evening. The orange and green in the map is completely impossible to distinguish when the nightmode is on. Sure I can turn it of, but the 12% of men who have colourbliness can’t, so it might be worth fixin’ for them 🙂

like the simplicity of it to use, setup. however it’d be awesome if there was a better description instruction on what each graph and how it all works together. but great info &

best app out there! thanks to the app we have caught the Aurora in north wales twice!! it’s such a simple view which makes things clearer and easier to understand, I’m always recommending it to friends and family! the cloud coverage makes life ten times easier as I used to check multiple weather forecasts etc but as its all in one place I can quickly see if it’s worth a drive to somewhere dark! we are going to Iceland soon and have the app downloaded and ready to go!!
