The Team Awareness Kit (TAK) application, also known as the Tactical Assault Kit, is a geospatial and situational awareness platform that reduces the operational footprint from a tactical laptop to a commercial mobile device. It supports Department of Defense (PerformD) and commercial sector standards, and its core platform can be extended through the Software Development Kit. The platform is versatile and has many capabilities, including online and offline mapping, collaborative mapping, elevation tools, heat maps, range and bearing measurement tools, and networking capabilities, among others. TAK CORE, the common functionality of all TAK applications, focuses on networking, geospatial data processing, visualization, and management. The system requirements for the TAK application are Android 5.0 or later, a graphics processor that supports GLES 3.0, and no specific requirements for storage, memory, or processor.
