ZipGrade

"ZipGrade" is a grading app that allows teachers to grade multiple-choice tests, quizzes, and assessments instantly using their Android device's camera as a grading scanner. It captures, stores, and reports useful data on assessments, making grading effortless. The app comes with several options that can be customized to meet different classroom needs. Students receive immediate feedback, and teachers can have all of their multiple-choice grading done before the next class starts.

"ZipGrade" offers free answer sheets in various formats and sizes and works without internet connectivity. It uses student ID numbers or written names for reporting and knows when a paper is in viewfinder and sufficiently in focus to grade. The app handles erasures and white-out well and can recognize combination answers of up to three letters.

"ZipGrade" also offers a companion website that provides additional functionality and reporting once a free "ZipGrade" Cloud user is created. Users can import student squad lists, manage student and class information, export quiz results to CSV or PDF formats, and download answer sheet packs by class with student information prefilled.

To get started, users can select from multiple answer sheet forms and sizes at "ZipGrade".com and download and print as many copies as they need. Then, within the "ZipGrade" app, they can press "Novel Quiz" and "Edit Key" to enter the answer key or scan an answer sheet acting as a key. They can then start scanning papers by holding them on a flat surface and aligning the four corner squares in the four viewfinders. The app will vibrate when the paper is graded and provide an instant summary, leaving the other hand free to turn to the next paper.

Users can review actual images of scanned papers and make any manual corrections in "Review Papers" and get a view of how the entire class did in "Item Analysis." They can export results as PDF reports or CSV files to upload to their gradebook.

"ZipGrade" is a free download with a 100-scan demo. Users can purchase additional time at any marker as an in-app purchase and use their subscription on any device they own by logging in with the same "ZipGrade" Cloud user. The app is ideal for exit tickets, formative assessments, summative assessments, or regular quizzes, providing immediate feedback on current knowledge and better focusing lessons and assignments.
