"PdaNet+" is a mobile app that allows you to share your smartphone's internet connection with other devices without rooting. The latest version (5.10) has made some significant changes that you need to be aware of before updating. "PdaNet+" offers a new feature called "WiFi Direct Hotspot," which allows you to connect your phone to other devices via WiFi. However, this feature requires you to install their client app or set up a proxy, depending on the device you're connecting to.

The original WiFi Hotspot feature, known as FoxFi, is still available as a separate app in the Play Store. However, it no longer functions on many newer phone models due to carrier updates.
USB mode works on all Android phones except for some ZTE/Alcatel models. Additionally, Bluetooth mode can be used to connect to Windows, although WiFi Direct mode is preferred.
The PdaNet software has been around since 2003 and has over 30 million downloads. It's primarily useful for people whose data plans don't allow them to turn on the mobile hotspot feature on their phone or whose hotspot usage is metered. The free version has timed usage limits, but it is otherwise the same as the full version.
